  • In Ontario, the public health plan (OHIP) generally does not cover private speech therapy services. Teletherapy (online speech therapy) can be covered through many private extended health insurance or workplace benefits plans. Insurance plans vary so always check with your provider to confirm what’s covered and whether a referral is needed.

At Speech and Vocal Wellness Clinic, we do not offer direct billing, however a receipt will be given upon payment which you can submit to insurance for reimbursement.

  • We offer in-home services exclusively for adults with dysphagia (swallowing difficulties). All swallowing assessments will be conducted in person. Availability is limited for this service. Please contact us or book an initial consultation for more information.

  • In most cases, you do not need a medical referral to begin voice therapy. You can book an assessment directly with a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Voice therapy and ENT care often work best together. If an ENT assessment is recommended, your Speech-Language Pathologist can help guide you on when and how to obtain one while still supporting you with therapy strategies.

  • We require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments cancelled or changed with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

This policy helps ensure availability for other clients and and supports efficient scheduling so everyone can access timely appointments.

  • Professional communication and gender-affirming voice services are within the scope of Speech-Language Pathology, and we understand how important and personal this work is. Our clinic currently focuses on specific areas of speech and voice therapy where we have developed dedicated programs and expertise, allowing us to provide the most effective support for our clients.
